Lloyd Daniels fancies Lucie Jones...

It seems Lloyd and Lucie may have a quite a bit in common, both are Welsh and both are from small sleepy villages in Wales (Lloyd is from Treharris, Merthyr while Lucie is from Pentyrch on the outskirts of Cardiff).

Now it looks like they may have bit more in common as Lloyd's mother reveals that her son has a big crush on Lucie.

Lloyd who spilt from his girlfriend Molly at the start of the X-Factor so he can concentrate on the show was seemingly had a change of heart.

Lisa Daniels, 41, told the News of the World: ‘When he first met Lucie in the early stages of the competition, he said to me ‘mum, I’ve just met the most beautiful girl from Cardiff’.

This is is the second potential X-Factor relationship as we had earlier reports fellow Essex-ers Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs may have a thing for each other.

Lloyd odds of winning fade as bookies tip Joe McElderry

As the acts prepare for Rock week Geordie Joe McElderry is still favourite to win the whole thing according to the bookies.

Stacey Solomon Odds: 8.4
Lucie Jones Odds: 7.6

Ten Things about Lloyd Daniels

From a series in the Daily Mirror, ten things you might not know about Lloyd.

1. At his first audition Daniels made a hash of his chosen song Jason Mraz - I'm Yours, but was offered a lifeline, first by Cheryl Cole then by Simon Cowell. Check out the audition below.

2. Aged 11 Daniels nearly died of kidney failure when he lost four stone in a fortnight. He dropped from eight stone to just under four after his kidneys stopped working. “The weight was falling off me to the point where I was skin and bones,” he said.

3. At the start of the competition he was 14/1 with ToteSport to win the competition outright, and 7/4 with Paddy Power and betfair.com to triumph in the ‘boys’ category.

4. Since getting through to the final 12 Daniels has been out and about on the celebrity circuit, hanging out with the Stars.

5. Former X Factor contestant Niki Evans has backed Lloyd Daniels to win this year’s series outright. “There was a young lad who came on and at first he was too nervous, but then he started singing and I thought, ‘God, he’s good’,” Evans told Digital Spy. “His name was Lloyd and he had blonde hair. He has a real indie sound and he wasn't trying to sound like Boyz II Men or anyone else like that.”

6. Infamous celeb blogger Perez Hilton is not a fan. After defending Ethan Boroian after he was booted off X Factor in favour of Lloyd Daniels, he ranted: “Less talented people have made it through on American Idol - and won!!!!!! Any blind person, except Cheryl Cole, obviously, can see the talent this kid has. P.S. Lloyd sucks, Cheryl!”

7. Lloyd Daniels is not to be confused with the American basketball star of the same name.

8. Pop Idol winner Will Young helped Cheryl Cole pick the boys for the final 12 and gave the following assessment of Daniels: “I’m a bit worried about his age, whether he can cope.”

9. He’s got his own YouTube channel where you can watch such delights as all his auditions plus him chatting to Dermot O’Leary while wearing a fetching blue vest.

10. Daniels is very popular in his native Wales. The head teacher at his local school has this to say about him: “He’s got a great deal of charisma and a smashing voice.” Meanwhile, the owner of the local Treharris hairdresser Hairloom revealed that he got his nifty barnet in her shop. “We used to cut Lloyd’s hair. He’s a lovely lad and he’s got a brilliant voice. We didn’t even know he could sing though until we saw him on the X Factor. You could see he was pleased when he got Cheryl as a judge. I think she’s got a twinkle in her eye for him too.”

My Mates Are Jealous of Me - Lloyd Daniels

Lloyd Daniels has revealed that his mates are jealous that he get to hang out with Cheryl Cole. They would have not been too chuffed when he melted the hearts of millions by giving Cheryl Cole a shoulder to cry on, after Simon Cowell ahd given her a dressing down over her song choice for Lloyd during last week's X-Factor Diva week.

In a interview with the South Wales Echo, Lloyd who hails from Treharris, Merthyr said

“Cheryl is awesome, my friends are very jealous that she’s my mentor and I get to spend time with her.

“They keep asking me to get her autograph.

“Everything’s absolutely brilliant, like seriously amazing.

“It couldn’t get better than this.

“I think I’m coping really well with the pressure. I thought I’d be a lot worse but I’ve surprised myself. I’m just trying to put the nerves aside and go for it.”

and in a revelation that will please millions of teenage girls across the country he let it be known that he hasn't got a girlfriend,

“I just want to focus on my singing at the moment, that’s my priority, but I do love the attention from the ladies.

“It’s very flattering and everyone I’ve met so far has been really nice so I can’t complain.

“I practically get jumped on by girls every time I leave the house, it’s quite funny really.

“There’s no-one I’ve got my eye on just now, but watch this space.”

Don't worry about that Lloyd we will be watching the space...

Lloyd Daniels - Bleeding love?

Last week we asked whether Lloyd can get any worse. We honestly thought not, but shows how much we know.

This week he 'bravely' took on Bleeding Love made famous by former X-Factor winner Leona Lewis. We say bravely using it in the same sense as a Security Guard trying to hold back the crowd at the opening of a 75% discount sale at Primark would be brave.

You probably know we think Lloyd is abysmal but this weekend he demonstrated that there are still further depths to plumb. His rendition of Bleeding Love (Buy MP3 now) would probably be best described as Bleeding Pain cos that what it sounded like.

If you can bear it, here is the performance in its fully 'glory'.

We can't wait till next week...

Lloyd Daniels in the 1st Live show

We wondered if the fact that Lloyd Daniels had sung the same song by Jason Marz at the Auditions and Boot Camp was something we ought to be worried about. Well rest assured it was.

Come the first X-Factor live show he attempted something different, and it was err... different. Never heard Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River (Buy MP3 now) sung quite like this.

Fortunately he is a good looking boy so the teeny boppers were unconcerned by the details such as singing ability as they flooded the phone lines with votes for Lloyd. The good news though he can't get this bad again, can he?

Lloyd at Bootcamp with Cheryl Cole

Ok ealier I suggested that only one contestant from Wales was from a "small village in Wales" but I was wrong. It would now appear that Lloyd Daniels is also from a "small village in Wales".

Is everyone is Wales from asmall village? If so, who lives in Cardiff, Swansea and other towns in Wales, the mind boggles.

Back to the point of the post Lloyd sings the song at boot camp that gets him choosen, intriguingly it is the same song he sang at the auditions Jason Mraz - I'm Yours. Is that all he can sing?

Lloyd Daniels at his first X-Factor Audition

We have two unapologetically Welsh contestants at this years X-Factor Finals, one that's famously from a small village in Wales and then there's Lloyd.

Here he is wowing the Judges with his rendition of Jason Marz - I'm Yours (Buy MP3 now)

Another day, another X-Factor / Fast food story

This time it is Lloyd Daniels and Lucie Jones popping down to Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) for some chicken.

It makes you wonder if they are having any home prepared meals at all? At this rate we are in dager of the X-Factor transforming into some sort of fit club.

Given all the time they have on the hands, applying this to a spot of cooking may not go amiss...

Lloyd Daniels in X-Factor Bromance

The Sun has reported that a "Bromance" developed between Welsh finalist Lloyd Daniels and Ethan Boroain (describe somewhat unsuprisingly as a "US hunk ".

The report says straight pair have become "inseparable" after meeting at boot camp.

And just like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, fans have given the chums their own collective name - "Loythan".

But the lads' female fans were sent into a panic after Ethan began posting strange comments on his Twitter page about 16-year-old Lloyd.

Ethan, 19, talked about how soft his mate's face was and referred to "spooning" him in bed. He has even had to reassure fans that the pair are NOT gay.

Ethan set the record straight yesterday, posting: "Hi guys!! Just to clear the air, Lloyd and I do share a certain bromance, but we are both straight."

Ah..the dangers of uncontrolled "twitter-ing"
